Volkswagen built more than 21.000.000 examples of the famous Beetle, but finding one today in this beautiful original condition is still rare. This particular example was delivered new in Belgium by Garage Vergotte in Sint-Baafs-Vijve in February 1974, and still has the original registration document and Belgian certificate of conformity issued by D'Ieteren S.A. It also comes with the certificate from "Stiftung Automuseum Volkswagen" confirming the colour combination and optional equipment : M102 (heated rear window) and M248 (ignition starter switch without steering wheel lock).
The most surprising aspect of this car is the fact that it still for 95% in original paint , which is really in fantastic condition as clearly visible in the pictures. The interior is also still with the original upholstery (Leatherette Bamboo) and in great shape. Technically the car has been overhauled in 2017-2018, all documented with invoices. The original manual and servicebook are still with the car, including some service stamps by Garage Vergotte. During the technical overhaul, the previous owner fitted gas-burner style alloy wheels, a popular upgrade for the sixties and seventies Beetles which still look very cool today.
It is hard to believe that this Beetle still looks so good in its original paint, and a testament to the German build quality of this car. This is a true collectors car which will appeal to any collector, and a real pleasure to drive at a very affordable price.
