For those who really want to be a front runner in the historic racing scene, we have now this perfect racecar available. This Shelby Cobra 289 is especially constructed for competition, and has all the right bits to make it a potential race winner. The car is built from scratch following Shelby Cobra racing specification and comes with a brand new FIA HTP Appendix K valid until 2029.

This Cobra 289 is constructed in Denmark in conjunction with Gelscoe Motorsport. It was a no expense spared process, with only the very best components available. The 289 engine is a latest specification Steve Warrior unit, producing 462 bhp on the rolling road with full exhaust system fitted (and 473 bhp on the dyno…). Both test reports are present in the documentation file. The exhaust is a full ceramic coated stainless steel system. The brand new T10 gearbox is made in accordance with FIA recognition form 1, and paired to a final drive with H/D output shafts. The rear diff is correct cast iron 4HU Salisbury differential mounted with homologated diff cooling and 4.06 ratio. The Cobra has a brand new 160 liters Premier Bladder fuel tank, with dual Holley fuel pumps. The suspension has rosejointed A-arms and Koni 8211 shock absorbers which were especially developed for racing Cobra’s (and the very best you can use on these cars). The leafsprings are heavily upgraded for high speed racing, and extra leafs are included for modification to softer racing or road/rallying if required. The brakes have AP Racing main cylinders with Girling CR an ORA calipers fitted with Pagid BLUE brake pads. To get all this power on the road, this beautiful Cobra sits on Crosthwaite & Gardiner magnesium wheels fitted with L-section Dunlop Racing tyres. Everything is very lightweight, including the full aluminium body and Le Mans hardtop. The well appointed interior is period correct, with the fully original Cobra 289 dashboard layout and rare Stewart Warner instruments, correct Ford toggle switches and the typical wooden steering wheel. The pilot is perfectly installed in a lightweight Tillet racing seat with full FIA approved 6-point harness and FIA specification roll cage – all inspected and approved by the Danish MSA.

To give a brief summary, this is a very competitive race Cobra constructed with extremely high attention to detail and authenticity. Before it’s first race at Jyllandsringen in Silkeborg (DK), the car had a complete spanner check by the Gelscoe Motorsport mechanics and made a great entry with a 2nd place overall. It performed lap times which were only 1 second above the Ford GT40 we sold in 2018 (and coincidentally also built and raced by the same owner).

This gorgeous Cobra is completely race ready with FIA HTP, and is competitively priced to sell. Are you the racing driver who will tame this beast on the most famous tracks around the world ?
