The Fiat 1500 Pininfarina Spider has a reminiscent styling to other beautiful italian designed convertibles from the sixties : Peugeot 404 Convertible, Alfa Romeo 2000 Touring Spider and even the wonderful Ferrari 275 GTS. This little Fiat has that typical Italian flair, and looks just perfect for its size.

This particular example was delivered new in Holland in 1964, so it is a European specification car. Restored some years ago, and still in a very nice condition. It starts on the button, and offers an easy and relaxed driving experience. The Fiat has a Belgian registration at the moment, and the last owner spent quite some money on the car to make it more reliable as he has done some international trips with it lately. All engine and gearbox seals were replaced to make the car leakfree. This was an engine-out job, and in the meantime also the starter motor, radiator, exhaust and alternator were replaced. Finally the brakes were overhauled including the fitting of new brake lines. As a finishing touch, a brand new and period correct Nardi steering wheel was installed. For the purists : the original steering wheel comes with the car as well.

It must be said, this cute Fiat Spider looks absolutely fantastic. This car is the perfect introduction to the world of classic motoring, as it offers an easy driving experience and nice classic looks. A Fiat 1500 Spider is a great tourer with decent performance, and if maintained well also a very reliable classic. It will get admiring glances and thumbs-up wherever you come, and it is probably the most affordable Pininfarina styled convertible from the sixties. There is even more good news : it can only increase in value in the coming years.
