This is a car from the coachbuilt era of Alfa Romeo, when the company was world renowned for superb engineering and build quality. The Alfa Romeo 6C name was used for road, race and sportscars produced between 1927 and 1954, and refers to the straight six engine. Bodies were made by famous coachbuilders such as Touring, Pinin Farina, Zagato and Castagna. From 1938 on, the car was available as 2500, and it was the last 6C road car. It came in three different wheelbase lengths : 3,250 m for the Turismo, 3,000 m for the Sport and 2,700 m for the Super Sport. It was sold to wealthy customers, as it was one of the most expensive cars available at its own time. King Farouk, Ali Khan, Rita Hayworth and Prince Rainier all owned a 6C, and there was even one featured in the original Godfather movie from 1972.

The example we offer for sale is delivered new in Lugano, and spent most of its life in Southern Italy. It is presented in a fantastic and patinated condition, due to the fact is has always been pampered and preserved by the previous owners. The Pininfarina coachwork is pure art, with a wonderful array of machine turned components and special aluminium finishers. Approximately only 80 cars were made with this gorgeous looking Sport Berlina body, and each of them had its own special and bespoke details. It is believed only 17 examples are still in existence, and this must be one of the best. This Alfa Romeo is also eligible for the Mille Miglia, which makes it one of the most comfortable cars to participate in this iconic event.
