This fantastic Rolls-Royce Phantom I has a very fascinating history. The car was delivered new to the Duque of Arion in Spain in 1926. He was one of the richest people in Spain, and ordered his car with the desirable Open Tourer body from Hooper. After a couple of years, he sold the car to the President of Spain, Don Alejandro Lerroux. When the civil war broke out in Spain, Don Alejandro moved to Portugal, and General Franco took the Rolls-Royce away from him and gave it to one of his best friends, an industrialist in San Sebastian. The car resided in this family until a couple of years ago. When we purchased the car, it was the first time that it left Spain since 1926...
This Phantom I with chassisnr 60LC, is a very rare motorcar. It is in fantastic condition, runs very well and looks quite impressive. The original colour was grey with black, but now its beautiful colour combination of Cream with Nutmeg and stunning red hide interior makes it an absolute eyecatcher. We have the build specification from new, and a lot of things on this Phantom are still very correct and original. The engine runs smooth, and gearbox and brakes all work well. Due to the mild spanish climate, the chassis and body are absolutly rustfree.
A Rolls-Royce Phantom I with Hooper Open Tourer body is one of the nicest shapes of the 40/50 HP range. On top of it this example is in pristine condition and has an important history, which makes it a once in a lifetime find. It will fit in every important motorcar collection around the world, and we are quite sure that finding a better one will be difficult.
