This Jaguar Mk2 is restored in 1996 by famous Jersey restorer Le Riche Automobile Restorers at huge cost. The restoration is fully documented with photographs and invoices, and the car only did 15.250 miles since. It is still in fantastic condition, and looks gorgeous in its high quality paint of Ecurie Ecosse Blue. The restoration was done with a new bodyshell supplied by Vicarage, including suspension modifications as developed by the same company. It has the typical streamlined rear wheel arches similar to the famous Coombs racing saloons from the sixties. These were integrated in the bodywork and not the cheap looking aftermarket add-ons in polyester. The engine is a powerful 4,2 Litre version from the 420 G, with straight port cilinder head. This allowed the fitting of a modified power steering rack from the XJ6. The gearbox is still the original Moss box with overdrive. Brakes were improved, and a new limited slip differential was fitted at the same time. A complete new wiring loom, new leather interior and carpets, and also a Webasto full length sunroof were installed during this extensive restoration. Total restoration cost was in excess of 55.000 GBP !
We are now offering this car for sale at a real bargain price, and at a fraction of the build cost. It really is 100% value for money, and now visible in our showroom (although probably not for long) !
