Now this is an interesting find : a very rare Volvo Sport P1900 which was the Swedish brand's first sports car. Designed by Pelle Petterson (ex-Frua), it's a nice blend of Swedish cool with Italian flair. The tubular chassis was developed in-house by Volvo, while the polyester body was supplied by the Glasspar company from California. Unfortunately the build quality was not upto the desired Volvo standards, and after only 67 examples manufactured Volvo's CEO Gunnar Engellau decided to stop the production.

This example with chassis no. 65 is one of the very last produced. Delivered new in California in early 1957, and remained in the USA until 1997 when a Belgian Volvo collector bought the car. Once in Belgium, the P1900 appeared to be in very good cosmetical condition (as it had been sitting in a USA Volvo showroom for many years), but a technical revision was necessary. In September 2004 the car was ready and participated in some concours d'elegance and classic car events.

In 2022, the Volvo was sold to another Belgian collector who deciced to bring the car back to its Original colour combination of light blue with red interior which suits the P1900 really well. This car is now in almost concours condition, and a unique opportunity to add the rarest of all Volvo's to your collection. Since only fewer than 50 examples remain in existence, there is little chance that you will come across another one again…
